Care Instructions

Rinse & Wipe Daily: Rinse your mortar and pestle with warm water and wipe both pieces with a soft cloth after crushing herbs or spices to keep the forest-green stone and brass inlays looking pristine.
Hand Wash with Care: Clean gently by hand using mild dish soap when needed. Never submerge either piece in water for extended periods, and keep them completely out of the dishwasher.
Dry Thoroughly: Dry both the mortar and pestle immediately with a clean, soft towel right after washing to prevent moisture retention and protect the brass inlay joints.
Prevent Staining: Promptly wipe away strongly pigmented spices, oils, or acidic ingredients. Natural marble is porous and can absorb oils or vibrant colors if left sitting in the bowl.
Safe Handling & Grounding: Use the pestle with controlled force against the mortar basin, and place both heavy stone pieces securely on flat surfaces to prevent accidental chips, cracks, or drops.
Avoid Harsh Cleaners: Stay away from abrasive scrubbers, metal scouring pads, and acidic or bleach-based cleaners, which will scratch the polished finish, dull the green marble's natural veining, and tarnish the brass stripes.

Crafted from Indian Green Marble, sourced from the Udaipur region of Rajasthan, this mortar & pestle brings a refined touch to a tool that has been part of Indian kitchens for generations. The deep green stone is carefully carved and hand-polished by skilled artisans, allowing its rich natural veining to remain beautifully visible.

Delicate brass inlay is individually set into the marble, creating warm golden accents against the deep green stone. Designed for crushing and grinding fresh spices, herbs, nuts, and masalas, it carries forward the traditional ritual of preparing ingredients by hand.

Rooted in Indian kitchens, carved from Rajasthan’s stone, and elevated with brass, a piece of tradition made for the modern home.

Safe Packaging

At The House of Marbella, protecting your piece is just as important to us as crafting it. Before any product leaves us, it goes through 2–3 layers of quality inspection to ensure it meets our standards. Each piece is then carefully cleaned and individually checked by two different team members before being approved for packing. Once approved, our dedicated packaging team begins a carefully designed multi-layer packing process. The product is first secured with protective thermocol and placed inside an inner box to minimise movement and impact during transit. The inner package is then thoroughly wrapped with bubble wrap and placed inside a strong outer shipping box for an additional layer of protection. Once completely packed, the package undergoes a drop test to ensure that the packaging is ready to withstand the handling involved during transit. Only after successfully passing our quality, cleaning, packaging and drop-test checks is the order cleared for dispatch.
